Western blot analysis of Metallothionein in pseudomonas aeruginosa metallothionein (pmta) gst tagged using 1 µg of protein. Sample was prepared with 5% milk and TBST, incubated with Metallothionein monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27586) using a dilution of 1:1000 (2 hours at RT) and followed by a Goat Anti-Mouse HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5000 (1 hour at RT). Samples are arranged as follows: Lane 1: molecular weight ladder, Lane 2: GST, Lane 3: Purified Pseudomonas aeruginosa Metallothionein (PmtA) GST tagged.

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-27586 was sufficient for detection of Metallothionein in 1 µg of purified Pseudomonas aeruginosa Metallothionein (PmtA)-GST tagged protein by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects 36 kDa band corresponding to Pseudomonas aeruginosa Metallothionein.
Target Information
Metallothioneins (MTs) are a family of low molecular weight, heavy metal-binding proteins characterized by a high cysteine content and lack of aromatic amino acids. MTs bind 7 to 12 heavy metal atoms per molecule of protein. They are ubiquitous in the animal and plant kingdoms and are also found in prokaryotes. In mammals, the cysteine residues are absolutely conserved and serve to coordinate heavy metal atoms such as zinc, cadmium, and copper via mercaptide linkages.
