Target Information
Mouse F(ab) refers to a specific fragment of an antibody derived from mice, known as the F(ab) fragment. Antibodies are typically composed of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, held together by disulfide bonds. Each antibody chain consists of a variable region (Fab) responsible for antigen binding and a constant region (Fc) that mediates effector functions. The F(ab) fragment is generated by enzymatic cleavage of the antibody molecule, specifically targeting the hinge region that connects the Fab and Fc regions. This cleavage results in the separation of the Fc portion, leaving behind the F(ab) fragment. The F(ab) fragment retains the antigen-binding regions of the antibody (Fab), allowing it to specifically recognize and bind to its target antigen.
