Western blot was performed using Anti-RSK1 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-95117) and a 80 kDa band corresponding to Ribosomal protein S6 kinase alpha-1 was observed. Whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of HeLa (Lane 1), K-562 (Lane 2), MCF7 (Lane 3), A-431 (Lane 4), HEK-293 (Lane 5) and HEL 92.1.7 (Lane 6) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0322BOX). Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 µg/mL.

Target Information
RPS6KA1 (RSK1) is a growth-factor regulated serine/threonine kinase that is involved in the MAPK cascade. It is thought to control cellular proliferation and differentiation through the phosphorylation of transcription factors. RPS6KA1 contains 2 nonidentical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway. The activity of this protein has been implicated in controlling cell growth and differentiation. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
