Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a comprehensive range of laboratory filtration products designed to support reliable sample preparation, sterile filtration, clarification, and analytical workflows—helping labs work efficiently and generate consistent results.
What is lab filtration?
Laboratory filtration is used to remove particles, microorganisms, precipitates, or unwanted material from liquids or gases. It supports common workflows such as sample clarification, sterile filtration, media and buffer preparation, microbiological testing, analytical sample preparation, protein concentration, and QA/QC testing. Thermo Fisher Scientific offers filtration products to support these needs, including Thermo Scientific Nalgene Rapid-Flow filter units and bottle-top filters, Nalgene™ syringe filters, filter membranes, analytical funnels, and ultrafiltration and dialysis devices.
Which filtration product should I use?
Start by considering your application, sample volume, required pore size, membrane material, chemical compatibility, sterility needs, and downstream workflow. Small-volume samples may be suited to Thermo Scientific Nalgene syringe filters, while larger volumes may require Nalgene Rapid-Flow bottle-top filters, Nalgene Rapid-Flow filter units, analytical filtration manifolds, or specialised ultrafiltration and dialysis devices. For cell preparation workflows, the Thermo Scientific Nalgene Cell Strainer supports preparation of uniform cell suspensions before downstream analysis or culture.
