Histone H2A Antibody (MA3-047) in WB

Western blot analysis of Histone H2A was performed by loading 20 µg of HeLa soluble nuclear and HeLa chromatin bound cell lysate fractions prepared using a Subcellular Protein Fractionation Kit (Product # 78840) and 5 µL PageRuler Plus Prestained Protein Ladder (Product # 26619) per well onto a 4-20% Tris-Glycine polyacrylamide gel. Proteins were transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane using the G2 Fast Blotter (Product # 62288) and blocked with 5% Milk/TBST for at least 1 hour at room temperature. Histone H2A was detected using a Histone... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

MA3-047 detects Histone H2A in Human samples.

MA3-047 has been succesfully used in western blot and ELISA applications.

Immunogen is a synthetic peptide conjugated to ovalbumin corresponding to residues 115-124 of Human Histone H2A, which is highly conserved across multiple species.

          Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H4 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails but instead contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
