Western blot analysis of SMAD6 in Human lung whole cell lysate. Samples were incubated with SMAD6 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-25263) using a dilution of 1:500 followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 20 µg per lane. Predicted band size: 53 kDa. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

Target Information
SMAD6 (mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 6) is an antagonist of signaling by TGF-beta (transforming growth factor) type 1 receptor superfamily members; has been shown to inhibit selectively BMP (bone morphogenetic proteins) signaling by competing with the co-SMAD SMAD4 for receptor-activated SMAD1. SMAD6 is an inhibitory SMAD (I-SMAD) or antagonistic SMAD.
