The iBind Flex Western Starter Kit for fluorescent detection includes an iBind Flex Western Device , iBind Flex Cards, and an iBind Flex Fluorescent Detection (FD) Solution Kit . The iBind Flex Western Device is a small benchtop device that automates western blot processing (immunodetection). It applies mechanical pressure to an iBind Flex Card to generate sequential lateral flow (SLF) of immunodetection solutions for the blocking, antibody binding, and washing steps. The glass fiber matrix of the iBind Flex Card allows for homogenous and consistent flow of the solutions over the membrane, increasing the antigen-antibody interaction.

The iBind Flex Western Device allows all solutions to be prepared and loaded in the device at the start of the procedure; all subsequent steps proceed automatically through SLF action—no electricity or batteries required. Blots are ready for the final detection steps in approximately 2.5 hours.
