It was used in preparation of polyvinyl chloride based membranes of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrinatocobalt(II) for arsenite determination. Also used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds such as aryl chlorides.
