LabCoat Live: Introduction to qPCR and Absolute Quantification, 1 week
Learn the fundamentals of how to perform qPCR and the absolute quantification (AQ) method of analysis. This course provides professional, interactive education via online lecture(s) and a self-paced hands-on lab experiment using provided protocol(s) and reagents. At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Explain basic qPCR theory
• Perform absolute quantification analysis using a standard curve
• Define the experimental parameters for performing absolute quantification
• Analyze standard curve data using Applied Biosystems software
Tuition includes*:
• Two 1-hour interactive online lectures
• 1 month of access to class webpage, including downloadable notes and protocol, support videos, and question and answer forum
• A training kit that includes reagents needed to perform the course protocol
*The participant is responsible for providing an Applied Biosystems real-time PCR instrument (7900HT Fast, QuantStudio series, 7500 series, StepOne/StepOnePlus, or ViiA 7 Real-Time PCR System) and materials necessary to set up a qPCR experiment (i.e., optical plates and adhesive covers, aerosol-resistant filter tips, pipettes, gloves, racks, vortex, microfuge tubes). In addition, participants will need a computer with internet access and minimum system requirements.
