VetMax™ Rotavirus A/B/C Kit

The Applied Biosystems VetMAX Rotavirus A/B/C Kit is a single-well RT-qPCR kit targeting porcine rotavirus groups A, B, and C in fecal, intestinal, and feedback samples.

Ease of use

All components for running the PCR are included in the kit. The sample preparation workflow has been tested with MagMAX sample extraction chemistry and KingFisher instruments. The kit has been validated for several swine sample types, eliminating the need for separate kits for each type. And this real-time PCR kit can be used with different thermocyclers, with the same results and reliability.

About Rotavirus

Rotaviruses (Reoviridae) are genetically diverse, non-enveloped, segmented, double-stranded RNA viruses that cause significant diarrheal disease in young pigs in commercial swine operations. Infection commonly causes villus atrophy resulting in dehydration, malabsorption, and wasting. Uncomplicated cases are typically accompanied by high morbidity but low mortality; however, co-infection with other enteric pathogens such as E. coli can lead to increased mortality rates.
