About the SureLock Tandem Midi Gel Tank

The SureLock Tandem Midi Gel Tank provides for rapid electrophoresis of midi gels using minimal buffer (∼520 mL/gel) in a leak-free system. With a set-up time of ∼30 seconds, the tank efficiently runs midi gels while also providing consistent performance. The tank features two independent chambers, allowing electrophoresis of one or two gels at a time, which saves on buffer and limits waste. The tank is compatible with all Invitrogen pre-cast midi gels and midi gel cassettes.

About Novex Tris-Glycine Plus Midi gels

Novex Tris-Glycine Plus midi gels are polyacrylamide gels based on traditional Laemmli protein electrophoresis, allowing the use of Laemmli sample and running buffers. The gels offer reproducible separation of a wide range of proteins into well-resolved bands. Novex Tris-Glycine Plus midi gels are a 1.0-mm-thick, wider-format (8 x 13 cm) gel for higher throughput electrophoresis of protein samples.

Transfer and detection

For transfer of proteins to a membrane, we recommend using Novex Tris-Glycine Transfer Buffer (LC3675) for traditional wet transfer using the SureLock Tandem Midi Blot Module (STM2001). Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 3 Gel Transfer Device (IB31001).

Convenient to use

NuPAGE Tris-Glycine WedgeWell-format gels have innovative wedge-shaped wells that allow up to two times more sample load volume than other 1.0-mm-thick gels. The wedge-shaped wells also have larger openings, making sample loading easier.
