Fibrinogen degradation reagents are used to detect fibrin/fibrinogen degradation products (FDP) within a sample in clinical settings. FDP is used to diagnose deep vein thrombosis, certain pregnancy disorders, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolisms, and disseminated intravascular coagulation.
