Our preparative stationary phases are offered in three families:
Hypersil PREP phases | Excellent choices for routine applications which require development from analytical to preparative LC scale. Available in C18, C8, and Si BDS as well as ODS, Si and Phenyl phases, the Hypersil PREP range has been designed to provide good selectivity for a wide number of applications. |
Hypersil PREP HS phases | A high surface area particle with a 100Å pore size to maximize retention and loading. An excellent choice for small molecule and drug purification applications, Hypersil PREP HS is available in C18, C8, Si and phenyl phases. |

Preparative scale liquid chromatography is used for the purification and isolation of molecules which are of value in the pharmaceutical, biopharma and associated chemical industries. The production of highly pure compounds in these industries is increasingly important in terms of the chemical activity, toxicity and usefulness for screening in highly defined and often costly experimental processes.
Often these processes start on an analytical scale with only a few micrograms of material e.g. for enzymes in biopharmaceutical applications, or a few milligrams e.g. for structural or identification of synthesized or natural products. Further along the process, gram quantities are usually required for standard and reference compounds or compounds targeted for pharmacology and toxicology testing procedures. In pharmaceutical environments, as a drug target compound moves further in the drug development pipeline, there is a need to “scale up” the reaction to create more volume of the targeted compound.
