Highest antigen sequence identity to the following orthologs: Mouse - 91%, Rat - 93%.
FBP1 and FBP2 are gluconeogenesis regulatory enzymes which catalyze the hydrolosis of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate and inorganic phosphate. Fructose-1,6-diphosphatase deficiency is associated with hypoglycemia and metabolic acidosis.
