Alginate Antibody (MA5-27564) in WB
Western blot analysis of Alginate in all bsa-alginate conjugate using 0.625 µg of protein. Sample was prepared with 5% milk and TBST, incubated with Alginate monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27564) using a dilution of 1:500 (1 hour at RT) and followed by a HRP Goat Anti-Mouse secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:100 (1 hour at RT). Samples are arranged as follows: Lane 1: molecular weight ladder, Lane 2: BSA-alginate.

Sodium alginate is used in biological experiments for the immobilization of cells and encapsulation due to its biocompatibility and simple gelation with divalent cations such as Ca2+. Studies suggest that preparation of alginate microspheres will sustain protein delivery within tissue scaffolds, as well as in many other cell types.
