Mitofilin Antibody (PA3-870) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescence analysis of Mitofilin was performed using 70% confluent log phase A549 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. PA3-870 detects Mitofilin from human, mouse, rat, canine, and feline tissues.
PA3-870 has been successfully used in Immunoflorescence, and Western blotting procedures. By Western blot it detects a 90-kDa band representing PA3-870.
PA3-870 antigen is recombinant human Mitofilin.
Target Information
Mitofilin is a transmembrane protein of the inner mitochondrial membrane and it is associated with a large multimeric protein complex of about 1200 kDa. Mitofilin has critical functions in mitochondrial morphology and mitochondrial fusion and fission, specifically in the formation of tubular cristae and cristae junctions. Abnormal mitochondrial morphology has been implicated in many human diseases such as myopathy, cardiomyopathy, rhabdomyosarcoma and Whartin's tumor.
