PA5-19552 targets PARN in IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The PA5-19552 immunogen is synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH derived from within residues 500 - 600 of Human PARN.
PA5-19552 detects PARN which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 75 kDa.
The protein encoded by this gene is a 3'-exoribonuclease, with similarity to the RNase D family of 3'-exonucleases. It prefers polyas the substrate, hence, efficiently degrades polytails of mRNAs. Exonucleolytic degradation of the polytail is often the first step in the decay of eukaryotic mRNAs. This protein is also involved in silencing of certain maternal mRNAs during oocyte maturation and early embryonic development, as well as in nonsense-mediated decay of mRNAs that contain premature stop codons. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
