Rbp4 Antibody (PA5-47495) in WB
Western blot analysis of Rbp4 in Hepa 1‚6 mouse hepatoma cell line. Samples were incubated in Rbp4 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-47495) using a dilution of 2 µg/mL followed by a HRP-conjugated Anti-Sheep IgG secondary antibody. A specific band was detected for RBP4/Retinol‚Binding Protein 4 at approximately 22 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions.

Approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human RBP4 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein post translationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
