Seipin Antibody (PA5-23621) in IHC (P)
Immunohistochemistry analysis of Seipin in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human testis carcinoma. Samples were incubated with Seipin polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-23621) followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine based on sequence homology.
Target Information
This gene encodes protein seipin, which is located in the endoplasmic reticulum and may be important for lipid droplet morphology. Mutations in this gene have been associated with congenital generalized lipodystrophy type 2 or Berardinelli-Seip syndrome, a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by a near absence of adipose tissue and severe insulin resistance. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
