Scott Peterman, Ph.D.

Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Life Science Mass Spectrometry Division, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Scott Peterman, Ph.D., has spent 20+ years advancing discovery and quantitative mass spectrometry across translational omics, environmental and food safety, and pharma/biopharma applications. His career spans scientific applications, product development, management, and marketing, giving him a unique perspective on translating emerging technologies into practical solutions. Earlier in his career, he led the co-development and commercialization of Pinpoint software and contributed to the productization and launch of the PRTC standard. Scott earned his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Texas A&M University, has authored 25+ peer-reviewed publications, and co-invented multiple U.S. patents.

Accomplishments

Peterman led the co-development, product marketing, and management of Thermo Scientific Pinpoint software from concept through NPI, commercialization, and lifecycle management. He was instrumental in the productization and launch of the Peptide Retention Time Calibration (PRTC) standard, supporting the development of a widely used LC-MS calibration tool for targeted proteomics. His work has included the development of innovative quantitative mass spectrometry technologies, resulting in multiple U.S. patents and more than 25 peer-reviewed publications. These experiences have given him a unique perspective on connecting scientific innovation with practical solutions for researchers.
