Coal Prep 2015

Coal Prep Show 2015If you are looking for a trade show and conference that is dedicated to coal preparation and processing, then you should be at Coal Prep next week. It is the gathering place for the international coal preparation community and an excellent way to gauge the Eastern Coal industry.  Everyone involved in the industry, from miners to construction contractors, attend this event. Coal Prep provides a forum for plant managers, process managers, plant supervisors, operator and quality and maintenance professionals to gain valuable information and keep them up to date with current industry trends.  This year’s sessions contain some great topics regarding alternative uses for coal, using marketing to drive the survival of coal in the 21st century, plant operator best practices, dust control from extraction to combustion, weighing and sampling, and taking a global perspective on exporting.  Make sure you don’t miss the keynote address, which is always tied to trends and hot topics in the coal industry.  This year’s keynote speaker is a professor of mining and minerals engineering from Virginia Tech who will discuss simple steps that plant operators can take to survive a difficult coal market. The exhibit hall will be packed with over 300 leading suppliers — giving access to a multitude of vendors providing equipment and services to help improve plant operations.  I’ll be in Booth 1319 demonstrating how our highly integrated range of instruments, equipment, consumables and laboratory information management software addresses all segments of the mining process, from early stage exploration through processing.  We’ll discuss weighbelt feeders, belt conveyor scale integrators, tramp metal detectors, and coal analyzers. Stop by if you want to learn how to determine field assays in real time, monitor production output, gather real-time analysis of coal stream to optimize processes, and minimize variations in coal quality. If you can take a few extra days to enjoy the area,  Kentucky this time of year means “Horses!”  Fans take in the farms around Lexington, and if their schedules allow, the Kentucky Derby in Louisville. (The Derby is May 1-2 at Churchill Downs.)  If you can only get outside the event area to grab a bite to eat, Harry’s/Malone’s in Palomar is a must. In my opinion, it has the best steaks and a great atmosphere. If you can’t make it to the show, visit our event page to take a look at what you would have seen at our booth or follow the show twitter account .
