Dave Lowe
David Lowe, NHSBT
Dr. Dave Lowe is a Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics specialist with over 20 years of experience in the field of HLA and Transplantation. Having joined One Lambda in 2018, Dave is now the Director of Research and Development.
In 1988, he began his career in the HLA laboratory in Birmingham, UK earning a Master's degree in Immunology before taking a lead role in the diagnostic support of a large program, HLA and ABO-incompatible renal transplantation, performed at the University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire. Further research in this area led to the award of a research grant from the UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to study aspects of the humoral response in transplantation. This body of work also led to the award of a PhD in medicine from the University of Warwick. He joined the HLA laboratory in Liverpool, UK in 2013, prior to joining One Lambda.
Dave is also a fellow of the UK Royal College of Pathologists and has a wide range of scientific publications covering various transplant-related subject areas, including the role of IgG subclasses, kinetics of the humoral response, antibody incompatible transplantation, and the applications of machine learning for the improved clinical management of transplant recipients.
