Basic Immunology and the HLA Complex
2021 Advanced Virtual Workshop Series
In the context of transplant medicine, this program will review immunology basics and the structure and function of the HLA complex for both Class I and Class II. We will also review the inheritance of HLA, segregation of HLA haplotypes, the concept of linkage disequilibrium, and HLA nomenclature. This course is designed at an introductory level and intended for technologists that are new to the field.
