Dr. Andreani discusses his laboratory’s evaluation of One Lambda™ AllType™ FASTPlex™ NGS 11 Loci Kit on the Ion Torrent™ and Illumina™ MiSeq™ NGS platforms showing 100% concordance on 240 samples previously typed using AllType™ NGS and demonstrates the changes and improvements to the assay.
HLA mismatch permissibility can be assessed by typing organ donors and sensitized recipients at high resolution and carefully analyzing the distinct molecular configurations of their HLA epitopes using with tools similar the HLAMatchmaker algorithm, which can also be accessed within the HLA Fusion software. This makes it possible to determine a patient’s eplet load, which has been shown to be predictive of de novo DSA production after renal transplantation2. Dr. Andreani’s laboratory is using One Lambda™ LABScreen™ Single Antigen and supplemental LABScreen™ Single Antigen ExPlex™ beads in conjunction with HLAMatchmaker to identify these HLA epitope mismatches.
