Difco Casein Digest is an animal origin (AO) enzymatic digest of casein with different enzymatic digestion conditions than other casein digests in our portfolio, such as Bacto Casitone and Bacto Tryptone. Difco Casein Digest has a unique nutritional profile of amino acids, nutrients, minerals, nucleotide precursors, peptides, and other metabolites ideal for growth promotion in fermentation applications, especially Escherichia coli.
