1-Decanol is used in the production of plasticizers, lubricants, surfactants and solvents. It is also used to study the thermal properties of polymer-monolithic stationary phases. Soluble in alcohol, ether. Insoluble in water.Miscible with carbon tetrachloride, ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene, chloroform and glacial acetic acid. Immiscible with water.
