The Applied Biosystems TaqMan SARS-CoV-2 Fast PCR Combo Kit is a multiplexed, highly sensitive, fast RT‐PCR assay for the qualitative detection and characterization of SARS-CoV-2 RNA (N, ORF 1a, and ORF 1b genes). The multigene SARS-CoV-2 assays target three different viral genomic regions, reducing the risk of failure to detect SARS-CoV-2. The RNase P assay in the same well is used to help assess sample quality and also serves as an internal process control. The kit is designed to provide reliable and sensitive results from raw saliva research samples.

• TaqMan SARS-CoV-2 Plus Control (Cat. No. 956129)—internal RNA control that contains targets specific to the SARS-CoV-2 genomic regions targeted by the assays as well as RNase P
• TaqMan SARS-CoV-2 Control Dilution Buffer (Cat. No. A49889)—dilution buffer for the TaqMan SARS-CoV-2 Plus Control
• SalivaReady Solution (Cat. No. A51516)—lysis buffer

Required materials not supplied:
• TaqPath 1-Step Multiplex Master Mix (No ROX) (Cat. No. A28523)—a fast, single-tube, 4X RT-qPCR mix that provides for sensitive, reproducible detection of up to four different RNA/DNA targets in a single multiplex reaction

The kit can be used for medium- to large-scale testing to quickly run 96 or 384 reactions with a fast turnaround time.

The kit is validated for use with raw saliva direct to PCR, without any nucleic acid extraction, reducing workflow complexity and cost. The 1,000-reaction kit is recommended for use with the following instruments:
• QuantStudio 5 Real Time PCR System, 96-well (0.2 mL block)
• QuantStudio 7 Flex Real-Time PCR System, 384-well
