Tetraammineplatinum(II) chloride is used as a catalyst in the chemical synthesis and a precursor for platinum catalysts. This complex has pharmaceutical applications and used in proteomics research. It is used in the preparation of Pt catalysts supported on reduced graphite oxide (RGO).
