• N-Methyl-D-glucamine is a hexosamine compound that is frequently used in combination with iodinated organic compounds in contrast media such as iothalamate meglumine, iodipamide meglumine, and diatrizoate meglumine


Applications


• It is also useful when applied in ion-exchange resins to chelate boron ions selectively
• It is considered a base and frequently used in the preparation of salts of certain acids
• It is also applied in the synthesis of surface-active agents and laboratory dyes
