Gibco™抗生物質-抗真菌剤は、細菌汚染および真菌汚染を防止するために使用されます。この溶液には、10,000ユニット／mLのペニシリン、10,000 µg/mLのストレプトマイシン、および25 µg/mLのGibcoアンフォテリシンBが含まれています。抗生物質のペニシリンとストレプトマイシンは、グラム陽性菌とグラム陰性菌に対する効果的な組み合わせ作用により、細胞培養の細菌汚染を防ぎます。アムホテリシンBは、多細胞性菌類および酵母の阻害により、細胞培養の真菌汚染を防止します。

ペニシリンは菌類青カビから独自に精製され、細菌細胞壁の代謝回転を直接的に妨害することで作用し、細胞壁をさらに変化させる酵素の放出を誘発することによって間接的に作用します。ストレプトマイシンは、ストレプトマイセスグリセウスから精製されました。細菌リボソームの30Sサブユニットに結合することで作用し、タンパク質合成を阻害し、感受性細菌を死滅させます。アムホテリシンBは、真菌性血漿膜透過性を高めることで真菌類や酵母の成長を防止する抗真菌剤です。

Can I use antibiotics such as Pen-Strep or Antibiotic-Antimycotic (100X) when culturing Sf9 insect cells?

Yes, however, we do not recommend adding antibiotics to the medium at the time of thawing. Thaw cells into medium without antibiotic and allow the cells to recover from the thawing process. After that, you can add antibiotics by diluting into the medium.
