SLE には、液体/液体抽出 (LLE) やタンパク質沈降手法などの生体マトリックスを処理する既存のサンプル調製法に対して多数の利点があります。 SLE は LLE に比べて再現性と回収率が高く、必要溶媒量が少なくて済みます。また、LLE 手法に伴うことが多い乳化を防止します。 また、LLE では行えない完全自動化に役立ちます。 SLE は、リン脂質を除去できないタンパク質沈降手法と比べて、サンプル抽出物純度が高く、感度が向上します。
