Thermo Scientific™ SureSTART™ 20 mL Crimp Top Headspace Vials (Level 3) are the premier choice for high-sensitivity headspace GC and mass spectrometry (MS) workflows, delivering reproducible results and exceptional sample protection for demanding applications.

Made with high-purity clear glass, these vials minimize metal content, extractables, and leachables - critical for maintaining sample integrity and meeting US, EU, and JPN Pharmacopeia standards. These vials are made to withstand higher temperatures and internal pressures required for volatile gas analyses.Available as round or flat base.

Round base vials are compatible with most autosamplers and more easily handled by robotic arms that lift the vial from the tray. Flat base vials maximize heating efficiency in manual headspace sampling and are required for use in some instrument models.

Each vial is Specification Certified to ensure their physical dimensions and autosampler compatibility. Combine with Thermo Scientific™ SureSTART™ 20 mm crimp caps and septa to ensure optimal performance.

When should I use a headspace vial for my chromatography workflow?

Headspace vials are used when you want to analyze the gaseous phase of the sample rather than the liquid phase. These vials have a thicker glass wall to withstand higher temperature and internal pressure for the analysis of volatile gas in the vial’s headspace. Headspace vials with 20 mm crimp tops and 18 mm screw tops in sizes ranging from 6 mL to 20 mL are available in clear or amber glass. Choose from a round or flat base with a beveled or square edge finish.

Round base vials are compatible with most autosamplers and are more easily handled by robotic arms that lift the vial from the tray.

Flat base vials maximize heating efficiency in manual headspace sampling and are required for use in some instrument models.

The bevel edge on a vial lip provides additional sealing power for greater leak resistance under high pressure.
