CTS GlutaMAX Supplement is an animal origin free (AOF) dipeptide alternative to L-glutamine, with increased stability that improves cell health. CTS GlutaMAX Supplement can be used as a direct substitute for L-glutamine at equimolar concentrations in mammalian and stem cell culture with minimal or no adaptation.

Gibco CTS products are designed for use in manufacturing of cell or gene products, supporting your transition from research to clinical applications.

Compared to L-glutamine, CTS GlutaMAX Supplement:

  • Minimizes toxic ammonia build-up - Unlike L-glutamine, CTS GlutaMAX Supplement does not spontaneously break down to form ammonia. This prevents waste build-up and maintains a fresh supply of L-glutamine during long-term culture.
  • Improves growth efficiency and performance of mammalian cell cultures - Lower levels of ammonia result in improved cell viability. In addition, culture conditions are more controlled due to the consistent concentration of CTS GlutaMAX Supplement that is not possible with L-glutamine.
  • Remains stable across a wide range of temperatures - CTS GlutaMAX Supplement retains full functionality at room temperature or 2 to 8°C, for convenient storage and handling.

Closed systems compatible

This size of CTS GlutaMAX Supplement is provided in bioprocess container format with the chamber constructed from Aegis 5-14 film. Sterile, weldable C-Flex™ tubing with a female luer lock provides versatile connection options for integrating into a closed system manufacturing process.

CTS quality

The Gibco CTS product line enables you to reduce your burden in qualifying reagents during your transition from research to clinical applications.

Products are manufactured at a site that uses methods and controls that conform to cGMP for medical devices, 21 CFR Part 820. Our FDA-registered manufacturing sites are ISO 13485- and ISO 9001 to certified. Gibco CTS products follow USP <1043> ancillary materials for cell, gene, and tissue-engineered products within the responsibilities applicable to a supplier.

Gibco CTS products are of high quality and are supplied with harmonized documentation such as certificates of analysis, certificates of origin, and convenient access to our drug master file (DMF).

What is the difference between GlutaMAX Supplement (Cat. No. 35050061), CTS GlutaMAX-I Supplement (Cat. No. A1286001), and CTS GlutaMAX Supplement (Cat. No. A4737001)?

The formulation and manufacturing process are the same for all three products. The main difference is in the “intended use” statement. CTS GlutaMAX-I Supplement (Cat. No. A1286001) and CTS GlutaMAX Supplement (Cat. No. A4737001) have an intended use statement of “For Research Use or Manufacturing of Cell, Gene, or Tissue-Based Products. CAUTION: Not intended for direct administration into humans or animals”. GlutaMAX Supplement (Cat. No. 35050061) has an intended use statement of “For Research Use or Further Manufacturing. Not for diagnostic use or direct administration into humans or animals”. The catalog number to use will depend on the specific application.

Will depletion, absence, or breakdown of essential growth-promoting components such as glutamine or growth factors reduce the growth rate of my culture?

Yes. If you suspect that this is the case, remove the medium and add fresh medium. Alternatively, you can supplement medium with growth-promoting components. It is also possible to substitute GlutaMax I or II for glutamine in the medium to prevent glutamine exhaustion.

Will the media formulations containing GlutaMAX supplement change with respect to L-glutamine content?

In all media containing GlutaMAX supplement dipeptides as a substitute for L-glutamine, concentration is equimolar with the L-glutamine in the original formulation.

Abstract
Different culture conditions modulate the immunological properties of adipose stem cells.

The potential of human adipose stem cells (ASCs) for regenerative medicine has received recognition owing to their ease of isolation and their multilineage differentiation capacity. Additionally, low immunogenicity and immunosuppressive properties make them a relevant cell source when considering immunomodulation therapies and allogeneic stem cell treatments.
