FormLiquid
2-Bromo-1,4-dimethoxybenzene has been used in preparation of S-(-)-2-[N-(trifluoroacetyl)amino]-1-(2,5-dimethoxy-4- bromophenyl)-1-propanone, 1,4-bis{4-[2-(4-pyridyl)ethenyl]phenyl}butadiyne and 1,4-bis{2,5-dimethoxy-4-[2-(4-pyridyl)ethenyl]phenyl}butadiyne and 1-bromo-4-iodo-2,5-dimethoxybenzene. It can be used as a chemical redox shuttle additive in Lithium ion batteries for repeated overcharge and overdischarge protection.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
