マウス胚性線維芽細胞（MEF）は、マウスおよびヒト胚性幹細胞（ESC）および人工多能性幹細胞（iPSC）を培養する際のフィーダー層として使用されます。これらはマウス（ICR株）胚から単離されます。細胞は、増殖およびγ線照射による不活性化後に凍結保存されます。凍結保存の前に、細胞の生存率（解凍後生存率80%超）が試験され、不活性化細胞を低密度で播種し、14日間培養後の細胞増殖の焦点をモニタリングすることで、増殖停止が確認されています。また、マウス胚性幹細胞（mESC）、ヒト胚性幹細胞（hESC）、およびマーカー発現（Oct 4）をサポートする能力についても試験されています。

What is the difference between Mouse (ICR) Inactivated Embryonic Fibroblasts (Cat. No. A24903) and CF1 Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts, irradiated (Cat. Nos. A34180, A34181)? Can they be used to reprogram fibroblasts?

Mouse (ICR) Inactivated Embryonic Fibroblasts and CF1 Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts, irradiated are inactivated feeder layer fibroblast cells that are isolated from different mouse strains. Researchers often have a preference for one or the other. Neither of these can be used to reprogram fibroblasts.

Does the culture vessel need to be coated prior to seeding Mouse (ICR) Inactivated Fibroblasts?

Yes, the cutlure vessel needs to be coated with Attachment Factor Protein (Cat. No. S006100) at 37 degrees C for 30 min or at room temperature for 2 hours. The coated vessels can be used immediately or stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours.

What is the sex of mouse embryros from which Mouse (ICR) Inactivated Fibroblasts are isolated?

We do not determine the sex of the embryos. The embryos were pooled from several litters which are a mixture of male and female.
