Mueller Hinton Agar (Dehydrated)

Perform effortless Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) using Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Mueller Hinton Agar (Dehydrated), a medium designed and manufactured according to the European standard, EUCAST¹ and the American standard, CLSI^{2, 3, 4}.

The major use of Mueller-Hinton Agar is for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST). It has become the standard medium for the Kirby-Bauer method^{5, 6} and can be used in internationally recognized standard procedures.

• Standard medium for the Kirby-Bauer method^{5, 6}

The inclusion of starch in the medium ensures that toxic factors produced during microbial growth will be absorbed, and its presence is often essential to establish growth from very small inocula.
