Iso-Sensitest Broth (Dehydrated)

Perform effortless testing using Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Iso-Sensitest Broth (Dehydrated), a semi-defined medium specifically designed for antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST). Iso-Sensitest Broth is carefully constructed to give reproducible results. It allows the growth of the majority of microorganisms without the need of further supplementation.

Iso-Sensitest Broth has stability in mineral content and the ability to produce optimum antimicrobial zones of inhibition. The amino-nitrogen base of acid-hydrolysed casein and special peptones has been supplemented with defined growth factors. Careful preparation of the nutrients ensures that trimethoprim and sulphonamide antagonists are at very low levels.

Iso-Sensitest Broth is produced in parallel with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Iso-Sensitest Agar CM0471. The broth has an identical nutrient formulation without the specifically purified agar. Where studies on antimicrobial susceptibilities are to be made in both broth and agar, this medium is found to be of particular value.
