Applications
Trimethyl orthoacetate is used as a diols can be protected as their 1-methoxyethylidene cyclic acetals (2-methoxy-2-methyl-1,3-dioxolanes) by acid-catalyzed exchange. It is mainly used as the chemical intermediates of the medicine.
