チオールおよびスルフィド定量キットは、タンパク質および非タンパク質チオール(スルフヒドリルまたはメルカプタンとも呼ばれる)の両方を定量するための、超高感度の比色分析を提供します。このアッセイでは、チオールまたは無機硫化物はジスルフィド結合を阻害されたパパイン誘導体を還元し、化学量論的に活性酵素を放出します。次に、色素産生性のパパイン基質であるN-ベンゾイル-L-アルギニン、p-ニトロアニリンド(L-BAPNA)を使用して、この酵素の活性を測定します。このキットでは、酵素増幅ステップにより、わずか0.2 µMのチオールを検出できます。これは、エルマン試薬を使用した場合の約100倍の感度です。
