EPS15 is a ubiquitously expressed protein that is involved in cell growth regulation and may be involved in the regulation of mitogenic signals and control of cell proliferation. Phosphorylation of EPS15 on Tyrosine 849 upon DNA damage is involved in the internalization of EGFR. A chromosomal aberration involving EPS15 is also found in acute leukemias, resulting in a rogue activator protein.
