Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human GDF-3. Anti-Human GDF-3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human GDF-3 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human GDF-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human GDF-3 (500-P235Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human GDF-3.
Western Blot: To detect Human GDF-3 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human GDF-3 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
GDF3 is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. The function of this protein is unknown, but expression studies suggest it may be involved in regulation of the adult lymphatic and erythroid systems and embryonic development.
