          Prohibitin Antibody (MA5-12855) in WB

Western blot analysis was performed on membrane enriched extracts (30 µg of lysate) of Caco-2 (Lane 1), Caco-2 treated with H2O2 (100uM for 1 hr) (Lane2), Neuro-2a (Lane 3), Neuro-2a treated with H2O2 (100uM for 1 hr) (Lane 4), COS-7 (Lane 5), COS-7 treated with H2O2 (100uM for 1 hr) (Lane 6) and HepG2 (Lane 7). The blots were probed with anti-Prohibitin Mouse Monoclonal Antibody, Biotin (Product # MA5-12855, 1 µg/mL) and detected by chemiluminescence. A 30 kDa band corresponding to Prohibitin was observed across the cell lines tested. Kno... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

MA5-12855 targets Prohibitin in IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Chicken, Human, mouse, Porcine, and Rat samples.

The MA5-12855 immunogen is purified recombinant rat prohibitin protein.

          Target Information

Prohibitin is from an evolutionarily conserved gene that is ubiquitously expressed. It is thought to be a negative regulator of cell proliferation and may be a tumor suppressor. Mutations in PHB have been linked to sporadic breast cancer. Prohibitin is expressed as two transcripts with varying lengths of 3' untranslated region. The longer transcript is present at higher levels in proliferating tissues and cells, suggesting that this longer 3' untranslated region may function as a trans-acting regulatory RNA.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
