          HO-1 Antibody (MA5-45347) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using mouse fibroblast cells. Fixation involved 4% Formaldehyde for 15 min at RT. Samples were incubated with HO-1 (Rat) monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45347) at 1:100 for 60 min at RT, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse ATTO 488 at 1:100 for 60 min at RT. Counterstain used was DAPI (blue) nuclear stain at 1:5,000 for 5 min RT. Localization: Nucleus, Cytoplasm. Magnification: 60X. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45347 was sufficient for detection of HO-1 in 10 µg of rat kidney lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 32kDa. Does not cross-react with HO-2.

          Target Information

Heme oxygenase (HO) is a microsomal enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of heme to the antioxidant molecules, biliverdin and carbon monoxide. HO consists of two homologous isozymes, an inducible HO-1 and a constitutively expressed HO-2. HO-1 is induced by a wide variety of stimuli including conditions of oxidative stress, inflammatory agents, transforming growth factor beta and heat shock. The increase in expression of HO-1 is thought to be a cellular defense mechanism against oxidative stress since elevated HO could eventually generate more bilirubin, an anti-oxidant.
