Description

A selectable marker for cosmid vectors used in transfection of mammalian cells.

Mode of Action: Binds to ribosomal components and inhibits protein synthesis. Kanamycin is inactivated by an aminoglycoside phospho transferase (MW 25,000) in the periplasmic space.
