Description: The mA-6E1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the heavy chain of mouse IgA. It does not react with other isotypes of antibody, including IgD, IgG or IgM, or with other species isotypes. IgA, which is mainly found as a dimer through association of the J chain, is found in mucous secretions, but not in plasma. Fluorochrome conjugated mA-6E1 is used as a detection secondary for mouse IgA primary antibodies.
Applications Reported: This mA-6E1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: This mA-6E1 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes stained with a mouse IgA primary antibody. This may be used at less than or equal to 0.25 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

Mouse IgA is an immunoglobulin A antibody that is produced by B cells in response to an antigen. It is a crucial component of the mucosal immune system, which protects the body from pathogens that enter through mucosal surfaces such as the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital tracts. Mouse IgA is composed of two heavy chains and two light chains, and it is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal secretions. It plays a vital role in neutralizing pathogens and preventing their attachment to mucosal surfaces. Mouse IgA is widely used in research and diagnostic applications, including ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
