MA1-932 will detect Recoverin from human, rat, bovine, and ovine samples.
MA1-932 has been successfully used in Western blot, ICC/IF and IHC (P) procedures. By Western blot, this antibody will detect a ~23 kDa band representing Recoverin from rat brain, as well as in bovine and ovine retina. This antibody is not recommended for rat brain tissue in IHC applications.
The MA1-932 immunogen is considered commercially sensitive.
Seems to be implicated in the pathway from retinal rod guanylate cyclase to rhodopsin. May be involved in the inhibition of the phosphorylation of rhodopsin in a calcium-dependent manner. The calcium-bound recoverin prolongs the photoresponse.
