PA1-7255 has been successfully used in immunofluorescence procedures.
The PA1-7255 immunogen is RH strain of Toxoplasma gondii.
An intestinal parasite that affects cats, Toxoplasma gondii also has a wide range of intermediate hosts including humans. Toxoplasma gondii infections in humans are widespread but vary greatly by region. The organism enters the intestinal epithelium and can spread to other host tissues. In healthy individuals the infection is usually asymptomatic. However, for individuals with compromised immune systems, a Toxoplasma infection can cause serious health problems.
