Use Stained Salmonella O and H Suspensions for the qualitative detection of Salmonella antibodies in sera for epidemiological and diagnostic purposes, primarily in the investigation of enteric infections and pyrexia.

  • Identifies major groups of Salmonella serotypes
  • Provides accurate, reliable results
  • Simple, easy-to-use tests

Serological tests are based on the fact that antibodies in serum, produced in response to exposure to bacterial antigens, will agglutinate bacterial suspensions which carry homologous antigens. In the diagnosis of febrile disease such tests should be used in parallel with appropriate cultural techniques for the isolation and identification of the causative organism. The suspensions are suitable for use in rapid slide tests1 and standard Widal tests2, 3. They may also be used as control antigens for serological identification of bacterial isolates.
