Lunch Symposium

How Emerging Technologies are Filling the Gaps and Positively Impacting Post-Transplant Care

Transplantation is not a singular event or a cure but a lifelong journey for patients. Clinical diagnostics play a vital role in supporting all phases of that journey.

Our lunch symposium will explore how new molecular tools by the Thermo Fisher Transplant Diagnostics business can help improve the transplant experience. Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Dr. Jamil Azzi will discuss the use of novel technologies like gene expression profiling and exosomal mRNA detection. The session will be moderated by our patient advocate, Valen Keefer, and Dr. Chris Lawrence, Senior Director of Medical Affairs with the Transplant Diagnostics business.

Valen is a kidney and liver transplant recipient, and Dr. Lawrence is a practicing nephrologist. Together, they will integrate the perspective of the patient and clinician for a session that focuses on how we can improve both quality of care and quality of life for transplant patients.
