Remove high levels of alkaline earth and transition metals without changing sample pH and filter particulates by using Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ Guardcap™ Na vial caps. Designed for use with Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ AS-DV autosampler PolyVials, Dionex Guardcap Na vial caps contain sulfonated strong cation exchange resin in the sodium form embedded in a high density polyethylene matrix. Dionex Guardcap Na vial caps seamlessly bring the power of automated inline sample preparation to your existing sample workflow without the need for additional labor, time, and complexity.

Each Guardcap Na vial cap:
- Removes 1000mg/L divalent cation (e.g., calcium or transition metals) from 800µL of sample.
- Leaves sample pH unchanged.
- Filters better than 80% of particulate matter greater than 20µm in diameter.
Some analytes, most notably nitrite, are affected by the pH change caused by hydronium-form resin. Removal of metals from a sample requiring determination of nitrite must be accomplished through sodium-form resin to ensure quantitative recovery (> 99%).
